Limited edition print. Signed by myself and Sir Jackie Stewart OBE. £250.
In 2012 I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Jackie Stewart at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. After some subsequent correspondence a project came into being whereby I undertook to produce this painting of Sir Jackie at the German Grand Prix in 1969. The resulting picture has been published as an edition of prints the sale of which will generate funds for Dyslexia Scotland.
Clearly the subject of this painting is something of a departure from my more usual landscape orientated work, but I nonetheless reveled in the drama and dynamism of Sir Jackie`s airborne MS80. Many thanks are due to Sir Jackie for the meetings we had to discuss the picture - and for his patient signing of 100 reproductions of the finished piece.
Mention has to be made of a friend and patron of mine Robin Jeffrey; his energy and enthusiasm were instrumental in bringing this project into being. Sadly Robin passed-away in 2015 but the work he initiated raising funds for Dyslexia Scotland through my painting goes on.
In the "Links" section of this website you`ll find a short video of me talking about this painting, filmed at Inverquharity Castle in Angus.
