Cityscapes
A few years ago I began to find inspiration in our urban landscape.
In many ways these "Cityscapes" are the antithesis of the rural paintings. These are evocations of places after dark, full of shadowy figures and the trappings of modernity, illuminated not by the sun but instead by saturated neon. These paintings look different because their content is different; the manner and aim of the two strands of my work is essentially the same.
