This is another painting depicting The Alyth Burn as it passes benignly through the center of the town. Such is the serenity of this early morning scene, it is hard to imagine the damage wrought by this waterway a couple of years ago when, swollen by heavy rains, The Burn wrecked most of town`s shops.
There is a more reflective atmosphere in this painting (as compared to "A May morning, Alyth"). The darker, more enclosing frame I have chosen for this work seems to enhance both the still dark shadows as well as the growing light in the scene.
