A moody scene in Glasgow - the inspiration for this painting dates back to a trip I made to the city in 2008 just days after the infamous 'Credit Crunch' and subsequent recession. For me it's not a gloomy picture but it is infused with a nostalgic melancholy. The figure in the window on the right sums up the plight of the 'stranger in town' - a table for one (more about this in my memoirs if I ever get around to writing them).
