This is a small study version of a bigger work I executed some time ago. A good composition and interesting light are the twin pillars of a good landscape painting; for me this work has both.
This painting depicts a meander in the South Esk as it winds it`s way through beautiful Glen Clova where the land dramatically transitions from Lowland to Highland Scotland.
A Winter`s morning, crispy snow underfoot.
