Oil on board. 27 cm x 20 cm. SOLD
This is a sketch I have replicated several times now. It's always a pleasure to do a painting which features a rusty orange roof offset against a somber grey sky.
There's a certain melancholy about the house (Tulloch Ghru near Aviemore). You can imagine the place in it's hey-day, a bustling hub of family life. I suspect that old relics like these will become a rarity as the socio-economic landscape changes around us and people flock from congested towns and cities to rediscover the tranquility of rural life.
